Lost: Reflections

I was a bit underwhelmed by the March 16th episode of Lost, titled "Recon."
Still, there were moments of the Sawyer-esque episode that had me thinking: Is the L.A. timeline simply a reflection of the island timeline, at least from a character standpoint? Let's review:
