Boyfriend/Girlfriend mashup

I'm taking a break from all the superhero/Batman/Spider-Man talk that has dominated this blog for the past month to share what is currently the best mashup ever created. *NSYNC's "Girlfriend" plus Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend."

Since the first time I heard "Boyfriend" — and promptly turned it off because I was not a fan — I have been thinking about how much I loved the song "Girlfriend."

I'm totally digging this mashup. Well done, Internetz.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to fall into a blackhole of boy band music videos on YouTube.

AT&T predicted the future

I was recently shown these videos of AT&T commercials from 1993. It was a "you GOTTA see this!" sort of moment. "AT&T predicted the future!"

I was skeptical. But when I saw the commercials, I was flabbergasted. It's baffling to think that these originally aired in 1993. Everything from GPS units to Skype was depicted with startling accuracy when considering current common technology. But don't let me spoil this for you; check the commercials out for yourself:

After thinking about these ads, I realized that the military had probably been using a lot of this technology before it was available for the general public. It's still uncanny that these commercials were able to depict what would be daily life for many of us about 18 years later.

Splitscreen: A Love Story

Technology allows people to do really awesome things, and the Internet lets them share it. Check out this neat splitscreen video called "Splitscreen: A Love Story," which was winner of the Nokia Shorts competition 2011.

The Sound of dial-up Internet, or Why I Love the Internets

We were just reminiscing about the old days of dial-up Internet, so I found this video on YouTube with audio of what it used to sound like to get online. (I suppose those of you with dial-up still hear this ... and then you wouldn't need to wait for this sound clip to load to listen to it because you just heard it ...)

Finding stuff like this is just another reason I Love the Internets.

The Secret Ingredient and One-Liners, or, Why I Love the Internets

If you watch "Iron Chef America", you know that The Chairman uses ... interesting inflection each time he introduces the Secret Ingredient. And, luckily, someone has compiled several of them into one video:

It's kind of like the compilation of David Caruso's one-liners in "CSI: Miami":

These videos are just another example of why I love the Internets.

"Quiznos Kittens Turbo Techno Jam!!!" Or, "Why I Love the Internets"

I and a couple of my co-workers love the new Quiznos commercial.

Then the Internet gave us this:

My abs will be sore from laughing for days.
